Tumbling Classes

These students have the opportunity to participate in MATS and the June recital. Proper dress for this class is leotard or dance top and dance shorts with hair securely tied up out of face.

LEVEL 1 TUMBLING 
This class is geared to new tumblers who are working on back bends, cartwheels, and different types of rolls. Tumblers will also work on splits.

LEVEL 1-2 TUMBLING
This class is geared to older students who are new to tumbling. They will be working on back bends, cartwheels, splits and different types of rolls. Tumblers will also work on frontovers, and backovers.

LEVEL 2 TUMBLING
This class is geared for tumblers with previous experience. Benchmark skills for Level 2 are the following: going down to and coming up from a back bend by themselves. They should also do cartwheels and other basics without help. Tumblers are working on frontovers, backovers, and splits.

LEVEL 3 TUMBLING
This class is geared for tumblers with previous experience. Benchmark skills for Level 3 are the following: front and back walkovers by themselves and at least one split. Tumblers will begin to work on back handsprings once they have learned a back Arabian. They will also start front handsprings.

LEVEL 4 TUMBLING
This class is geared for tumblers with previous experience. Benchmark skills for Level 4 are the following: must have good basic limber skills (front and back walkovers, and front and back Arabians, front handsprings) as well as roundoff back handsprings and are working on aerial cartwheels. Tumblers should have at least one split. This is an invitation only class. All tumblers entering this class must audition and receive coach’s approval. Tumblers may not be taking at any other dance studio to enter this class.

LEVEL 5 TUMBLING 
This is an invitation only class. Benchmark skills for Level 5 are the following: roundoff back aerial and at least one other aerial. Most tumblers can do a roundoff back handspring back, an aerial cartwheel and are working on an aerial front walkover. Tumblers are working on all aerials from step hop to standing and row work. Tumblers should have advanced limber skills. Tumblers are working on multiple back work and starting front work. Tumblers may not be taking classes at any other dance studios to enter this class. All tumblers entering this class must audition and receive coach’s approval.
